Core Wallet Extension is a multi-chain crypto wallet designed by Ava Labs, the team behind Avalanche (AVAX). The developers have created it to support the Ethereum, Bitcoin, Avalanche, and EMV-compatible blockchains. The wallet is compatible with some digital currency exchange platforms and dApps (decentralized applications) created on the C-Chain blockchain, like in-game virtual assets through dApps and collectible NFTs (non-fungible tokens). What is Core Wallet Extension?

Core Wallet is a non-custodial wallet and blockchain bridge application developed for Avalanche. It was originally a desktop-only decentralized application, but Ava Labs introduced it on Android in 2022. Developers have slated the iOS compatibility for launch in 2023. Also, it is compatible with ETH and BTC to simply swap these cryptocurrencies in Avalanche-based DeFi (decentralized finance) apps. It is in the open beta stage. The Core Wallet Extension is a self-custody crypto wallet providing bridging features to the ETH and BTC blockchains. This permits cross-chain swaps and on-platform altcoin exchanging, non-fungible tokens (NFT) transactions. It does this by being a downloadable wallet extension that users can add to their web browsers. Also, it lets you transfer crypto assets to a hardware wallet.

Guide to Creating a New Wallet on Core Wallet Extension

• To begin using Core Wallet, you must download the Core Wallet extension for Chrome web browser. For this, move to the Chrome Web Store and tap the Add to Chrome button.
• After successfully installing the extension, the wallet will launch.
• On the home screen, two options will appear: Create a Wallet (if you need a new wallet) and Access Existing Wallet (sign into the previously created wallet).
• Tap the Create a Wallet button to begin the process.
• On the registration page, you must specify a username and a reliable password. Agree to the terms and hit the Save tab.
• The final step is to copy and secure your secret seed phrase.
• That's it; your Core Wallet is now ready to go.

Steps to Connect a dApp with Core Wallet Extension

• First, you must move to the dApp site.
• On the homepage, navigate and hit the WalletConnect tab.
• Then, choose the Core Wallet Extension from the available list of wallets.
• While connecting the Core mobile app to a dApp website, the wallet will ask for permission whenever you connect it.  
• Next, you must provide the desired amount to connect. Hit the Approve button to successfully connect to the site.
• Also, you should separately approve the other dApps if you are connecting to the other dApps.
• When connected, return to the browser page to connect to the site with which you have connected the Core mobile.
• Note: To check the connected sites, move to the Settings & Private menu and choose the Connected Sites option to check the connected dApps. You can disconnect from every dApp individually or all in a single tap.

Token Swap

Users complete all the swaps via ParaSwap, and they are subject to the terms of services and regulations of the platform, including the fees. If you wish to perform on another swap protocol, you can use the Core extension to access them.

• Launch the Core Wallet Extension, tap the + icon, and select the Swap option.
• Then, pick the desired asset and specify the amount.

Bridge Feature

With this feature, you can bridge the assets from/to ERC-20 token to/from Avalanche C-Chain. Note: The bridge doesn't transact assets between BTC and ETH networks.  

• Enter your wallet, hit the + tab, and choose the Bridge option.
• In the From section, pick the network you wish to bridge. In the To box, choose the destination network. After this, provide the desired amount to the bridge.  

NFTs

Remember you must only send non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and tokens to your wallet address or familiar addresses. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Ensure the destination address you have provided is correct before submitting the transaction.

• Tap the Collectibles tab to show the NFTs available to send.
• Choose the desired collectible and hit the Send button.

Core Wallet Secret Seed Phrase isn't Working?

If your seed phrase functions for the Core browser extension, Avalanche Web Wallet, or Core mobile, below are a few fixes you can try.

• Confirm you have entered the words in your secret phrase correctly.
• The seed phrase is case-sensitive. You must provide every word in lowercase, with one space. Be careful while copying & pasting by ensuring there is no extra space at the start or end of the seed phrase.
• Check your keyboard to ensure the keys entered match the words to the phrase.
• Move to the website and check the spelling of the words.

Unable to Transact Assets?

• Update the app. Always, ensure you have the backup of your Core Wallet Extension. Updating the app solves common problems.
• Confirm the destination address. To transact assets, you must have the correct destination address. The transaction will fail if the receiver gives the incorrect address, or you can lose the assets.
• Network Fees. Ensure you have a sufficient balance to pay the network or other fees.
